"The Alibi"

1989
Black Widower Mystery
2

A counterespionage agent recounts an elaborate alibi which he was able to break which consisted of a man hiring a near double to take a cruise for him to Bermuda. The idea is that he’s challenging the Black Widowers to reconstruct the reasoning by which he was able to crack it—but, of course, only Henry succeeds in doing so.

This is moderately interesting, actually, in terms of the elaborate nature of the alibi. The conclusion as to where it fails is reasonable, too, but not in and of itself terribly interesting.
